As a licensed Florida attorney with more than 15 years of legal experience and over three decades of nursing proficiency, Christa S. Dunsmore brings firsthand insight to health care licensing defense. Her legal training and direct clinical experience bring a real-world perspective to the challenges health care providers face.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Dunsmore built a long nursing career in hospital-based settings, including the operating room, cardiovascular ICU, medical telemetry, and community-based hospice care. Much of her nursing career has been spent in the OR, which continues to inform how she represents health care professionals today.
Ms. Dunsmore’s path to law began while she was working in critical care. After her years in nursing, she wanted to make a broader impact in the health care community and chose to pursue a career in law. Her legal career spans mental health court proceedings (Public Defender’s Office), civil litigation, family law, nursing home litigation, and legal nurse consulting.
She continues to maintain her nursing practice alongside her work in health care licensing defense, bringing a current understanding of both professions to her clients.
